Last night was the old-school Enduro, indoor only due to some residual water on the track in the far outdoor turns. The slick indoor, short track and 10 karts at the same time is fun! Much like NASCAR short track racing, bumping and banging – you always have someone to in front of you or on your bumper! I only saw a couple issues of guys not leaving enough room for the guy next to them. Could have been a lot worse considering how much passing goes on there in a hour on such a short track.
You’d expect qualifying to be close on a shorter track, but competition is really intense when a half of a second separates the top 8 teams. On pole it was John Waldrop #5, followed by Papal Thunder, Dave, Team Saratov, and Chris Lock to round out the top 5.
Once again Davin running an ironman moved up from a 7th place qualifier to win it. Dave moved up from a 3rd place qualifier to finish in 2nd and Team Saratov running an ironman also moving up one position from qualifying into in the 3rd spot. Both Papal Thunder and John Waldrop #5 slipped back from their qualifying spots to finish 4th and 5th. Fast Lap honors went to Team Saratov with a 19.597, but four teams were within a tenth of a second of that.
