Last night was the 1st time we’ve raced in reverse on the new track. Only a pro-night thing as the pit entrance is short and needs to be kept in check, but everyone was on their best behavior last night. Any remaining moisture on the outdoor track cleared up as soon as qualifying started so the track conditions were consistent throughout the night. Qualifying had Dave on the pole with …?… in 2nd, followed by a great effort from Brett to start 3rd.
For the race we ran 96 laps with the top 6 teams finishing on the lead lap. The patience award for the night has to go to Team Saratov for sticking to Alex’s bumper for most of the race. Davin was running directly behind Dave (but was a lap down as a result of a black flag) when Dave spun on his own to bring out the yellow. This allowed Davin to get his lap back and proved to be the deciding moment in the race because he held the lead until the checkers. Brett held on to 2nd until a hard charging Dave squeaked under him into the first indoor door turn to take and hold onto the 2nd spot.
