If you thought the Grand Prix of Bahrain was exciting, you should have seen the Pro Enduro this past Tuesday night. The top 3 changed positions 3 times within the last 2 min!! The lack of blue flags definitely makes it more exciting. Combine that with a mid-race direction reversal and things got crazy.
Vladimir Putin had so much confidence that it was going to be 4 in-a-row that it was oozing all over the track.
Then came the 30 min mark….and with the direction change and yellow flag things closed up again. At about 15min to go we swapped the lead a few more times as Papal Thunder was still a ways back but running faster lap times. He was coming.
Then the traffic allowed him to get to our bumper and it was on, a 1-2-3 race for the win with plenty of time still on the clock. We went from 1st to 3rd and back to 2nd all in one lap. Papal Thunder and Vladimir Putin also saw the lead and then saw rear bumpers. It was anyone’s race at that point with lappers making the final decision.
Papal Thunder squirted through the traffic like a watermelon seed between your fingers and instantly had a 3-5 kart lead on the other side….gone!
Dave kept it together thru the gauntlet with Vladimir Putin on his bumper in third!
