LMK Speed Secret – Practice (Part 2). One of the keys that most racers know intuitively but haven’t mention in this forum is the old rule” nothing beats seat time”. To me, the biggest issue is how to keep your skills sharp between races. In a typical SCCA/NASA weekend you may get 30 minutes to warm up, a 20 min qualification and a 40 min race.-That’s it. So you need to come up to speed in a hurry if you are going to be competitive. Since much of karting transfers over to auto racing, you maybe a couple of tenths faster during qualifying that your competitors who are still trying to come up to speed.
