LMK Speed Secret – The Double Hairpin. Instead of making the final right turn onto the front straight of the indoor track, you’ll continue straight and out through the door onto the outdoor section of the track. This first group of turns is very technical and can make or break your fast lap. Start by putting the kart as far to the left of the track as you can go. Your braking point is about right here:
Turn in and hug the barrier for a late apex. Just past the end of the barrier, you can head almost directly (just a slightly widened line) toward the apex of the left-hander, which is in the middle of the corner.
At minimum, you’ll need to fully lift off the throttle, possibly using a bit of brake to rotate the kart depending on driving style and conditions. Again, turn sharply and head toward the apex of the next right-hander, which is just past the center of the corner. This is a slow, uphill run, so maintain as much forward momentum as possible.
As with the last two corners, turn in and hold a tight line which will put you here:
The next section of track is high-speed, so use as much throttle as you can coming out of this corner without causing the kart to slide. Track out almost to the barrier holding a tighter line to minimize distance, but not so much that you sacrifice momentum. On to the bus stop!
