LMK Speed Secret – Finishing up the lap. From the apex of the previous left-hander, you can draw almost a straight line to the next corner, ending up positioned a bit to the left:
This should be treated as one long, increasing-radius corner, with the apex just a bit around the back (see cone position). Depending on track conditions, this corner may be taken at full throttle or may need a brief lift to prevent excessive sliding. Some sliding is OK as long as you are putting the power down. A proper entry will put you here:
When exiting, you’ll need to strike a balance between a wide line for exit speed and traction versus a tight line to minimize distance. This is especially important when on the indoor track, as this leads up to the full-throttle right-hander and the high-speed straight and beginning of the lap. There’s less, but still significant amount of time to be gained when on the Mega Track headed out the door.
Positioning the kart as above and aiming for about the middle of the track mid-corner will put you in very good shape. For the indoor track, hold tight just as on the previous track and sling shot down the straight to complete your lap. For top time of day, of course.
